TED EDGE Talk
Synopsis
Albert Einstein once said, “The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.” Dog fighting was most popular in the medieval times and from then on, people realized the abuse behind it all. First, dog fighting then became illegal in most states, then, immortalized. Next, it became illegal in all states, and finally, it became a felony to all who are caught participating in dog fighting in any ways. Dog fighting may be seen through the eyes of conflict theory. Laws were just thrown out to the people expecting that they would fix all of the problems. The importance of dog fighting is very significant to us because it shows us the bad of the world. It helps us to understand that animal abuse is extremely disrespectful to the animal and is seen throughout dogfighting.

Reflection
Tony La Russa said, "There are always distractions, if you allow them." I choose this quote to describe how I performed this quarter because I believe that it definitely explains my situation. I had many distractions this quarter not only procrastination but I was also sick for a long period of time. Sometimes, peers were also a distraction but I was able to keep myself on task and also help them to complete their work and keep them on task. Even with these complications, I was able to complete all of my work and go above and beyond. I still continued to stay on task the whole time even if I was procrastinating on certain events.
I stayed on task because when I was procrastinating on something, I went and worked on something else. I completed all of my work days before it was due so that I could get as much feedback as possible on it. I also continuously continued to get feedback from my mentors while working on my parts of the project. I went up to Cusky about 10 times while creating my spark page. I was able to get a lot of good ideas from him in order to make it better. I also got a lot of feedback while creating my Spanish book. I went and got feedback about once-a-day to make sure that my partner and I were doing it correctly. Because we had the book finished early, we were able to add some professional touches like having in both English and Spanish and making the object buttons so that you could click on them. I did not get a lot of feedback on my Ted Talk because when I went to get feedback I was told it was good just the way it is. Although I did not get a lot of feedback while writing my speech, I got a lot of feedback on how to memorize and present my speech. I was able to start on my board early because I had finished all of my other work. Because of this, I finished my board early as well and I was able to be a "mini mentor" to those who needed help with creating their boards. When I had no work to do I went into E205 and helped as many people as possible in order to help them and my mentors who where stressed about getting them done. Because of the amount of time I had, I was able to thoroughly plan out my exhibition night. I was able to make it look aesthetically pleasing and was able to include a lot of extra work besides my Metaphor Machine project.
On exhibition night, I did not do anything extra like go up on main stage or present in the poetry room but I was able to make my area for exhibition night look very professional. I brought in a table cloth to help make my projects stand out from the others. I also had my stuff organized on my table to make everything easy to see. I was able clearly explain my project and the importance behind it. I was also able to get my point across while also making sure that my audience was interested and not bored the whole time I was presenting. I did not use filler words so I sounded more professional. I definitely learned a lot throughout creating this project.
