Iron Horse Elementary
April 27th 2018, I volunteered at Iron Horse Elementary school to help out with their Spring Carnival. I set up ticket booths and prize boxes for every station. I also went and help set up stations where they needed my help. I was asked to help out with the hair dye station where I collected tickets for a little bit and for the rest of the time, I helped spray the non- permanent hair-dye. When helping with collecting tickets, I had to have a fun and cheerful attitude to bring the kids in to get their hair dyed. It was also very fun and cheerful to see the kids look at their hair in the mirror once I dyed their hair. It was an amazing experience getting to work with all different kinds of people as well as helping out the school.
Adoption Choices Of Colorado Picnic
In September of 2017, 2018, and 2019 I have been able to help with Adoption Choices of Colorado's annual picnic. I help set it up, guide people around, and clean up at the end. I help refill cooler full of drinks, and refill the food tables. I also help with the auction. The auction has so many different items for auction such as food, gifts, massages, and even vacations! I got to meet so many amazing people and I loved being able to play with all of the kids while their parents were able to enjoy meeting with other parents. One year, I also helped with a special needs adult so that his parents could meet and greet as well.
Ragnar Race
During this event, my classmates and I had the opportunity to help run the annual Colorado Ragnar Race. We helped all the way from set up to take down. I had the responsibility of making sure the participants had all of the supplies required to run in the race. It was so fun being able to see all the excited participants and even getting excited with them. This event was a great way to give back and make a difference in peoples life even if it was with a simple smile.
Samaritan House Halloween Party
In 2019 I had the opportunity to help my friend with one of her projects that she did. Her project was to collect supplies to throw a Halloween party for the citizens at the Denver Samaritan House. It was an amazing experience as I was able to interact with all of the citizens and I was able to see how something as simple as a small Halloween party could light up their faces. I helped set up the party, run it, as well as clean it all up in the end. Its times like these that show me what giving is all about.
Denver Rescue Mission

During this event I had the opportunity to bring turkeys to the Denver Rescue Mission. EDGE was able to collect over 100 turkeys to donate for the holidays. My classmates and I were able to go and deliver the turkeys and even help sort goods within the facility. It felt great to know that what I was doing was going to help thousands of citizens within my own community. We spent over 4 hours sorting and packaging goods for others. It was an amazing experience being able to work with so many great people who are doing their best to help others in need.
Student Advisory Group
The year of 2019 I had the opportunity to be a part of Student Advisory Group which is the student voice for Douglas County schools. Every month, students and members of the Douglas County School board meet to discuss and solve issues within the county. This specific year I was able to focus directly on school safety from a student's perspective. SAG has been able to make multiple changes within the Douglas County School District and are vital to the system. I am so glad to be a part of this organization where students give their time to try and make their schools a better place.
